Soweto - Sth. Africa

Soweto the most famous south african township, came to the world's attention on 16 June 1976 with the Soweto Uprising, when mass protests erupted over the government's policy to enforce education in Afrikaans rather than English. Soweto became the symbol of the fight against apartheid. Today Soweto is a part of Johannesburg. Apartheid no longer exists but in this shantytown has just change its name to poverty.
